PERFORMING ON: Sunday, 22 July at WTF Stage - 21:00

Troi has always been surrounded by music, in one way or another. The musician and singer, born Troi Alexandria Irons, was raised by musician parents – her mom is ‘80s recording artist Anne G and her dad drummed for ‘70s group Brick – and connected with how a song could channel feelings that might never otherwise emerge. The musician, born in Acworth, Georgia and now located in Los Angeles, grew up singing with her family and taught herself guitar at age twelve, learning riffs to Green Day’s American Idiot and a Beatles Greatest Hits album. After graduating from college in teens, Troi struggled to make ends meet and spent six months living her car after being kicked out of the house at eighteen – all of which makes its way into her sincere, honest songwriting. The musician, who produces her own songs and was discovered after Fabbien Nahounou found her soulful song “Red” on YouTube in 2013, is currently working on her debut album for Circa 13 / Def Jam Recordings and wants to ensure that each track has the possibility to give its listener hope.
