With deep and resonant vocals delicately pinning down a raw diary of honest lyrics and soul driven melodies, Thearosa’s music gently captivates the ears while gripping the heart with a fierceness that binds.
At just 21 years of age, this indie-pop island princess is far from just a two dimensional flash in Indonesia’s music industry spotlight. Scouted by Whitehouse Productions at age 15, the Indo Filipino singer-songwriter was quickly taken under the wings of Jakarta based producers and within graduating high school, signed to Frisson Entertainment Asia, the label previously behind artists such as Elephant Kind, Neonomora, Matter Halo and Scaller. A debut EP was recorded and March 2016 saw the release of her first single ‘Thrones’, produced by Elephant Kind’s Bam Mastro.
Thearosa has since been sharpening her presence across a stream of stages. From festivals to live music venues and beach clubs, her unapologetic approach to songwriting has grown effortlessly and a recent collaboration with UK artist Dan Croll has set the scene to begin recording a debut album, aptly named ‘Vision’ set for 2020. In the meantime, keep an ear out for the re-release of her EP, planned for later this year.
